What makes the sample useful

Every number
has a definition.

A dashboard should make its assumptions easy to find. These simple definitions keep the charts, the table, and the downloads consistent.

  • Revenue: total recorded sales for the selected period and location, excluding sales tax.
  • Direct costs: illustrative costs attributed to those sales. This is not a complete profit-and-loss view.
  • Gross margin: (revenue − direct costs) ÷ revenue. Combined margins use combined revenue and costs.
  • Average transaction: revenue ÷ transaction count. Combined averages use total revenue and transactions.

Each sample month contains four reporting buckets. Week 4 includes the remainder of the month. No target, prior-period, or causal performance claims are implied.
